Having finished my exams, last weekend I headed down to London to stay with a friend. The weekend was lovely and chilled, exactly what I needed after a stressful couple of weeks of serious cramming (perhaps I shouldn't have been so complacent with my revision over the holidays...). We just stayed in most of the weekend as the weather was so awful. But we did get time to snap a couple of outfit posts (sorry for the awful lighting, out timing wasn't the greatest). We also headed to Westfields where the Zara sale nearly took me for everything I've got so wisely we bolted out of there and headed to our old favourite Wagamama to satisfy a potentially cheaper craving, and as always it treated us well. We finished off the day with a trip to the cinema to watch 12 Years a Slave, boy did that film pull some heart strings. I'm a rather strong willed person but I always struggle to watch films like this, I always find that they make me very emotionally disturbed, more so than most, but I don't for a second regret watching it, I would recommend that everyone sees it! Hope you are all well and that January has been good to you.

Makeup Favourites of 2013

It's only in the last two years that I have really gotten into my makeup. When I was younger simply mascara and eyeliner would do the job but as I grew to discover the wonderful world of makeup out there, I naturally became addicted. I haven't quite reached the level of many makeup enthusiasts out there, but with more time and money (more the latter) i'm sure my collection will grow to compete!
From my currently modest collection, here are the products that I was constantly reaching for and truly loving in 2013:
1. Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation in Golden Deep: I LOVE this foundation. It gives me such a flawless finish and lasts pretty much all day. I couldn't ask for much more, well aside from a drop in price but we can all dream
2. Too Faces Shadow Insurance: I tried this when rummaging through a friends makeup bag and instantly fell in love, vowing to buy it as soon as funds were available, and my love is just ever growing. The product really does do everything it claims; my eyeshadow applies better and lasts a much longer time and no creasing. It may be a tad pricey but it lasts forever and a day and is totally worth it.
3. Made to Love Mac Lipliner: My first of many Mac lip products I am sure, and I can say i'm not disappointed, it really is worth all the hype. The colour is beautiful, a nice pinky red which I've paired with both a nudey pink lipstick and a red and it has produced great results so its proving to be a versatile product, as lipliners should! Furthermore it lasts on my lips all day/all night!
4. Mac 217: Ahh the infamous blending brush, the God of eye brushes. Need I say more?
5. Twig Eyeshadow by Stila: I bought this eyeshadow on whim when I went through a periodic obsession of blogsales, but my oh my it is one of the best 'on a whim' purchases I've ever made. This colour is beautiful, its a browny red shimmery eyeshadow, that I tend to wear in my crease on top of a matte neutral colour and the look always follows with many compliments.
6. Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Face Brush: What 2013 favourites would be complete without a Real Techniques mention? I use this brush to apply my blush and oh my life is it a heavenly experience! The brush is so soft, and as it isn't densely packed it means that you can build up the product.

7. Dolce & Gabbana L'Imperatrice Eau de Parafam: Last but not least I wanted to throw in this beauty. My one true love. Perfection in a bottle. I can't even explain it. Just go to your nearest perfume dispensary and sample it. and buy it.

Stay blessed

HAIRSPARATION

Going natural was a big big step as my sisters out there with whom I'm sharing this journey with I'm sure all know. I wake up some days and just want to go back to BC'd (big chopped) days when I had short hair that required zero maintenance. To get myself out of the rut this hair of mine can at times land me in, I jump straight onto the internet, be it Instagram, YouTube, various blogs or just Google Images, and search through pictures of women with beautiful hair to remind myself why I went natural. We all need a little inspiration at times to keep us going so here are some rocking great heads to admire and aspire to.
